Hiya

We have done this trip with 2 cats just 4 weeks ago. We moved here in Almeria (Los Gallardos) permanently. Feels free to private message me for a nice chat and tips.

Sorry to ask this on someone else's thread but we are doing this next month with our 2 cats. Did you stay at any cat friendly hotels & if do can you recommend please? Many thanks

Hi!!!

No problem!

We have left UK via Eurotunnel. Arrived in Calais and drove a VERY long stretch to Bordeaux to spend the first night there. The website I found the place in Bordeaux (Hotels.com I think) specifically said “pet friendly” but the lady looked surprised when we were walking up to her (lovely) Guest House and said “no cats”!!! As it was Past  midnight I said “no way, it said pet friendly and we WILL stay here. She hesitantly agreed. Her place is beautiful , lovely breakfast and all but with cats I can not recommend now. She might turn you down.

Our next stop Zaragoza, again website through booking.com said “ pet friendly” and IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLACE! They welcomed our cats and breakfast was included and it was really cheap. Lovely hotel right in town! It is called Hotel Avenida I think . Zaragoza is great! I really loved the place. Pity we were rushing to arrive as our removal company was arriving here at the same time and we needed to be here.

Driving from Calais to Bordeaux is very long , but we needed to rush. If you have more time better to stay before Bordeaux, maybe Tours. Plenty of Pet Friebdly hotels on Booking.com.

Hi Marcia,

Thank you so much for this. I have looked on bookings & wondered if Pet friendly meant cats. Obviously it doesn't always!! Thanks for this & your advice. It's really appreciated x
