Driving from UK to Almeria for relocation.  Any advise on how to do this, we were looking at trying to buy a Spanish registered LHD in UK and driving over, or buying a cheap UK car and outing this once in Spain and buying there.

Would be grateful for any hints and advice. TYIA

my advice is do not buy a Spanish registered car in the UK,you cannot transfer ownership and so you would be liable for any fines accidents related to the vehicle, yes buy a LHD in the UK and then matriculate when in Spain

We did this a year ago (with 2 dogs) and bought a cheap car in England, took the tunnel and drove through France and Spain with two overnight stays in pet friendly hotels and then eventually scrapped the car here, sent the paperwork back to the DVLA so it was scrapped in the UK and bought a Spanish car.

Thank you so much for the advice, I think this will be the route we take, do you have the names of the pet friendly hotel you stayed in please 😊

We booked them on booking.com there's an option for pet friendly. One was in Tours France and the other Zaragoza Spain. I'm sorry I don't remember the names and my emails must have been deleted. There was a fair bit of choice though.

I think most of the campanile and ibis hotels have dog friendly rooms.

Hiya

We have done this trip with 2 cats just 4 weeks ago. We moved here in Almeria (Los Gallardos) permanently. Feels free to private message me for a nice chat and tips.
