One thing I forgot to mention, this lateral flow test is not accepted if entering France. They insist on a PCR test

From 15 Feb you need not just a negative Covid test within 72 hours before arrival in Britain, before you arrive you have to book two similar tests that have to be done during your 10 days of U.K. quarantine. These two tests have to be done on Day Two and Day Eight of quarantine and cost £210 to pre-book. If not pre-booked you will not be able to get a flight or ferry or get through the tunnel.

...was acceptable

We travelled on the ferry from Santander a few days ago. We had the Antigen test from EV Medical in Vera, €40, 15 minute results. It was acceptable at Santander and the UK border. It is called Abbott Rapid and meets the required high standard.
