1. I am not in Mojacar at the moment. Normally, we'd be into our 3rd month of summer at this stage (11th August). We didn't travel because (i) We might inadvertently bring Covid-19 to Mojacar (ii) We might get infected by Covid-19 in Mojacar (iii) We could get infected along the way especially in departure and arrival airport, not to mention on public transport.
2. I understand several beach bars have closed now (some precautionary others because of infections). Furthermore, I hear that a Covid-19 Test Centre has opened at the old football field on the Playa. I'm aware that wearing of face masks is mandatory even outdoors.
3. The facebook equivalent of this forum is supplying differing opinions on (a) the amount of Covid-19 infections (b) Responsible and Irresponsible behaviour of some people in bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc (c) I can't trust the local newspapers in Mojacar.
4. What is the true situation regarding Covid-19 (and fear of Covid-19) in Mojacar Playa and the nearby towns at the moment? Does anybody know the number of infections? How many are hospitalised? Did anybody die of the recent outbreak? How serious is the situation? Is my concern over-loaded? Has tourism almost died in Mojacar? Is tourism flourishing in Mojacar? Are people taking the Covid-19 situation seriously? Is Mojacar 100%, 90%, 80%, 50%, 5% safe from Covid-19? What is the regional "R" (Covid-19 Reproduction figure)?
5. The rumour machine is working overtime. Can anybody supply the truth?
