I have to say I'm confused as to why you had to have 2 sim cards. For some time after I left UK to live in Spain I had an EE contract and was assured that Brexit would have no effect on my contract. The only reason I changed to a Spanish number was because most Spanish Banks and other institutions cannot recognise UK numbers ( The Spanish Health system in particular! ). Perhaps this is your reason or maybe your phone is locked to O2. My phone is unlocked and has a facility for an Esim and physical sim. I travel extensively and the the only time I've considered getting an Esim is to cover countries that my Spanish Digi sim doesn't cover. Esims that have coverage worldwide are expensive and so usually I've just got a local pay-as-you-go sim for the duration of my stay in that particular country.
