Hi Speaking from experience you will be much better off with a Spanish firm with an English speaker. I used a English firm with a Spanish branch. Regrettably I had to make a claim due to a burst pipe. The loss adjuster was based on the costa del sol and had to visit on three occasions to view the damage and subsequent works. It was very stressful and protracted.

Had i used a Spanish insurance firm they would have taken care of the contractors and all the estimates I had to get to show the loss adjuster when he could "show up".

Unfortunately as with most things you will get what you pay for, and to my cost, that is exactly what I got.

I hope you do not ever have to make a claim.

Best regards

We have used linea direct (direct line) for both car and home insurance for our first year here in Spain. All documentation and dealings with agents are in English. Once you’ve settled in and improved your spoken Spanish you can search the market for better deals etc.
