Hope everyone is keeping safe and well. We’re still hoping to move this summer and are starting to pack. My question is with regards to electric products, like vacuums, lamps, TVs, etc. Our intention was to bring everything with us and replace things as they start breaking down. I have tried to research how things work when using Uk to European adapters, but can’t seem to find definitive answers. Would people advise to just use everything or are there certain products that definitely shouldn’t be used. I’m thinking about things that operate with “power surges”, jet washers, kettles, etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Gary

Hi Gary, I am a qualified electrician and in a nutshell you can bring any appliance you have in the UK to Spain and it will work perfectly.

However, I would recommend that when you arrive you should replace all of the UK pattern 13a plugs with Spanish pattern plugs, as the adapters you can buy are not intended as a long term solution hence the term ''travel plugs''

Just as a footnote, this has been debated on here a number of times in the past and I expect others will disagree saying they have used travel plugs for years without a problem.

yep been here 16 years now with adaptor plugs on all our UK items and never had a problem .  use a surge extension lead for tv and computer but that's all and that's a UK one plugged into an adaptor.
