My husband and I would be very interested. Have tried various classes but still struggling. Could you tell me when the classes start?  Many thanks

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

I think it will be next term after the summer holidays but go along to the school any time after 3.30 and you can speak to the teacher.  Her English is excellent.  The classes are according to experience, i.e.  complete beginners, next stage, intermediate and advanced so you needn’t feel overwhelmed.  Her name is Marta.

Good morning.

Yes, it’s the same place.  If you go there any afternoon after 3.30 you can get an application form from Marta the teacher.  She is excellent, speaks good English and never makes you feel stupid if you get something wrong.

Regards Dianne

Many years ago Vera town hall ran free Spanish classes as did Garrucha.  Dont know whether they still do so.  The Vera ones were held in the bibliotque (library) in a square leading up.from the Church.  The Garrucha one was at the Casa de mayores (i think it is called something like that) just off the sea front where there was once a pensionistas bar but that is closed now.  However i am sure the library in Garrucha would be able to give you information that can be accessed either  from Calle Major or the large building in the centre on the sea front side which is like a community centre and has steps leading up to it.  This is next door to Escanez Restaurant.  Hope this info is of help.

Hi San,

There is a post above which may help but if I was you, I would just call into the Ayuntamiento  or the Library and ask. Both should know.  I believe most of the municipalities run classes.  It’s a bit of a journey but if you can’t find any classes locally, Los Gallardos classes are brilliant.

Regards Dianne

Hi San, The little building is at the top of Calle San Joaquin right opposite the cemetery.  It is called Guadalinfo but I don’t think the name is displayed.  There is a large painting on the side of the building.  The teacher speaks excellent English and is very kind.

Hope to see you there.

Hi, I've just picked up your post, but when I went along to the building opposite the cemetary at about 4pm, everything was closed.  Am I too late to register or was I in the wrong place?

Hi Helen.

The school is closed for the summer but I am sure you will not be too late to sign up in September when everything reopens.  I don’t know the date yet but it will probably be when the children go back to school.
