I have been told that the agua amarga area is lovely and i would like to visit but i am unsure where to stay?

Can you help? I love little while washed villages with a sprinkling of bodegas etc but want it to be within walking distance to the beach.  Mojacor is perfect for the village but the beach is too far to walk...hill etc so something similar to mojacor.

I enjoy bars and restaurants yet enjoy the tranquility of a spanish village.

Does this exist in this area? Any info is much appreciated.

Gracias Paulita

Aqua amarga is a very small Spanish resort. There is a small hotel/pension at the very end of the beach that is good. Check Google maps for info. Sure to be plenty of apartments on Airbnb. Las negras just down coast is worth a visit, but mostly pebbles, but much cheaper. Wacky backy  central when we visited 2 years ago.

I think you'd like Agua Amarga.  Although very small, there are a few bars and restaurants and a couple of small but delightful Hotels a short distance from the centre.

Another place you could research is San José which has a very laid back feel to it or even Carboneras which  has plenty of little bars and fish restaurants and is very Spanish.

Sorry, but the sea by Motril and Salobreña is pretty polluted.  Swimming not advisable and no blue flags.

I believe that Salobreña has a good amount of German bars and restaurants so the beer and shnitzels should be good there.

There isn't anything like Mojacar by the beach.  I personally like Carboneras.  OK, the view on one side is not so great but at least its a genuine Spanish fishing village and is alive in the winter months the beaches are great too and it certainly isn't ugly.

Sorry if I have upset you Markie.  It certainly wasn't my intention.

I am very pleased that that part of the Granada Costa has got a blue flag again and that everything has been cleaned up now.  I was there in 2017 and 2018 and they were getting to grips with the problems, cleaning rubbish out of the sea, etc.

No, I won't be going there because I'm a bit too ancient now for all that climbing uphill, although it is a very pretty village with wonderful  views.

I ought to add that I have nothing against German food which I believe to be nicer than most  British traditional food, however like you I would go for the traditional Spanish restaurants which normally offer excellent value.
