As far as far I am aware, if married, she comes in as a dependent of an EU resident … if proof of income is required, it would only be at residencia levels i.e. 9.000€ available once-off.

If you have private health insurance, she will likely need her own health insurance or be named on yours, if you are on Spanish health system, you’ll need to go to TGSS in Huércal-Overa and get a certificate saying that she is your dependent (and so covered by your health cover)...

...

She will of course need to be on the Padrón.

I would strongly advise contacting a Solicitor who specializes in migration, such as Mundi Abogados to check exact requirements though.

i would maybe use CATS and a layer , thank you so much  Dario it is a big step for us and appreciated

kind regards

My wife and I were originally married in South Africa - getting a copy of the full certificate plus translation would (according to SA Embassy) have taken close to two YEARS - if it arrived at all.

So we went to Gibraltar, got “re-married” at the Gibraltar registry office (required one nights stay in Gib either before or after wedding) and got the full certificate there.

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING - speak to a Solicitor who specializes in migration - not a lawyer used for a house purchase or similar, but someone who REALLY knows the ins and outs of extranjería.  When you have a definitive answer, I can certainly recommend a Gibraltar wedding as being effective and a wonderful memory.

If that’s the route you choose to go, let me know and I’ll recommend a company there who will organize the ENTIRE affair with as much, or as little “fluff” as you want (i.e. at bottom end of scale, do as we did and stay in a beautiful AirBnB in middle of Gib, get married in Registry office; at other end of scale, stay in expensive hotel, get married and have reception at hotel, flowers, photographers - the whole works - or anything in between.)  This company takes care of everything including all the paperwork required.

Before marrying, you need to just confirm that marriage still bestows the right of the partner to come in as dependent / partner of an EU resident.  Once you have that confirmation, a wedding in Gibraltar covers all the legal necessities of marriage required in Spain
