Dario , not sure when you where in uk last ? But how you can say the citizens of the uk pay scant regard is as usual crap . I live in a rural area but travel into large towns to shop and 99% of the CITIZENS are sticking to the rules . Perhaps the younger generation in bigger towns and cities may ...

...flout the rules and of course the few who are just bloody awkward . I saw plenty of rules broken in mojacar thru July and august with gangs of youngsters some with masks most without , the consequence huge outbreak at Mandela and Lua . And people still greeting with hugs and kisses . Why this constant knock the Brit . Grrr

There is no doubt that Covid protection rules are not being followed as well in England, less so in Scotland. How do I know? I have family and friends living in Southern England and in various spots in NW England and in Yorkshire and in Scotland - East and West. Plus friends here in Almeria that recently visited the UK and travelled on trains. Yes of course UK residents don’t have to wear masks outdoors - but in shops all are supposed to do so yet there are still quite a few shops where even staff are not wearing masks.

Which is maybe why the U.K. is heading towards a third lockdown. In Spain we have had one, plus a curfew and curtailment of hospitality opening hours.

And possibly a stricter policing , I know I am more aware of guardia and local police when they appear than if a uk Bobby wanders past . I have seen them in action enforcing laws around bars and stopping motorist . It’s not a bad thing , once again it’s respect ✊ . Carry on chatting folks cattle need bedding down for Xmas

Please tell them that in Madrid , Barcelona and Valencia . It’s worldwide Dario . I really think our government have been poor to say the least and I doesn’t help that our doors are open to everyone for too longer . It must be a fine line trying to keep the economy going and pleasing the shut...

... everything groups . Has anyone on the forum had the vaccine yet ?  Let’s hope and pray that it is the answer in the long term but this virus is a tricky little bugger and has a few twist and turns yet I think . Be safe

Not had the Vaccine yet - it’s being released in Spain 27/12.  It’ll be those most at risk first, so I’m guessing I won’t be offered until June / July at the earliest .... *sigh* and I was so hoping to be getting rid of masks sooner.  Apparently not.  Will be an interesting tourist season if masks are still mandated .... given Guardia Civil are self-funded, I foresee their coffers swelling if that is the case .... :-D

enjoy the festivities as best you can - remember to give any wandering pregnant women in need of shelter a place in your barn and of course the warmest manger ....

“ Guardia Civil are self-funded,”

Is that correct?

Yes - that is my understanding, and why if you get stopped by GC you are at higher risk of a fine than Policia Local.

It's just a shame the uk police don't act the same, then they may have been in a better state of affairs.

Cattle fed and bedded no sign of pregnant lady but met with a carpenter this morning ,told him no mask no entry . The minute our lot raise their voice or hand they get the police brutality crew out with the mobiles . Anyway folks it’s nigh on Christmas, enough doom and gloom . Everything is going to be wonderful with vaccinations, brexit deals and cheap flights , dream dream dream . Have a good one

Gosh, I have just read the last 5 pages of comments & discussions and I'm quite amazed at how nasty people are being in these times. Should we not all pull together and as my grandmother used to say " if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all x

Sorry didn’t mean to be unkind to the carpenter , but rules are rules but your right it can get a bit personal . Something I’ve tried to steer clear of . Thought this thread wasn’t too bad after the Hold on thread .
