Aha, Vera Playa.  That’s about 6 km out of Vera town, but well served by a variety of shops in the area.

If you contact Exclusive Airport Shuttles, Ithey do a run from the airports

which airport are you coming into? Alicante or Almería?

No.  Certainly not during tourist season, and they are not supposed to go on main beaches at all.  There are beaches further up from Vera Playa where I have seen dogs, but you’d need to seek advice from Ayuntamiento when you get here as to which beaches are dog-friendly

I would say come and have a look around first.  Be guided where feels right for you.  It’s difficult - almost impossible - to judge where you are going to be happy living without actually experiencing it.  There is so much more to the coastal areas than beaches, and so much more to the inland areas than mountains.  There are plenty of places you CAN walk with your dog on the coast ... just .... not the main tourist beaches.

¡Ay! That’s a HUGE question.  I really can’t in good faith answer that - what works for me may not appeal you.  For example, I live at Valle del Este; it’s peaceful, quiet, about 7 km from both Vera and Garrucha.  It’s a Golf resort (no, I don’t play golf, not even a little bit)  and it is very very well looked after and maintained.  I love being here, but others may find it too quiet / remote / too far from the beach / not close enough to shops etc etc.

I would suggest, beings you have the place at Vera Playa, use it as a base to start looking around the different areas - look inland as well as coastal and bear in mind the coastal areas are quieter in winter.

What type of company you want will also largely dictate where you settle - i.e. do you want a lot of expats around you? or are you looking for a more local experience?

Oh - I thought you’d been offered the place at Vera Playa September - January?  If it’s been offered, I’d take it

yes probably will but some on hear said they have villas that might be better with my dog, she needs a lot of exercise and she is an off leash dog that's used too the beach and the woods, so am going to see what's best..
