Hi Everyone

Just looking for advice on travel, we have our furniture coming over the middle of March to        arboleas  ( we have been waiting since last year to do this) I have had to book flights into Alicante airport on the 19th March . Is it going to be ok to drive from there to arboleas or do I run the risk of getting into trouble.

We are so looking forward to getting our furniture moved in as we’ve been waiting now for so long due to this COVID cr##p the last few months have been a nightmare.

Cheers Lish

Hi Lish - how are you both - stressed I would guess 🙁.

Im no expert, but my understanding is you should be ok driving to Arboleas from airport as you are going to your main residence (obviously have all your paperwork with you).

However, I thought you still needed your TIE to actually get into Spain. This of course may have changed by mid March.

Im sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

As always good luck with everything.

Hi Lish,

Zoe is right. If you have your TIE you will be fine because you are travelling to your home.

But Spain is not allowing anyone into the country unless they have TIE, whether they live here or not.

Neighbours of ours, who live here permanently and have started the process of getting TIE, went to the UK at Christmas and have been unable to come home. They have been approved for TIE but haven't done fingerprints yet. The family is stranded in the UK until the rules change.

If you have your TIE you will be fine, otherwise you will not be able to enter Spain, unless the rules change before you travel.

Good luck.

Thanks for this information,  I contacted my solicitor about this and he is saying that I am able to travel as a tourist only until I have my tie so now I'm getting confused.

Appreciate your comments.

Hi Lish,

I really hope the situation changes before you are due to make the move because Spain isn't allowing tourists into the country at the moment. People who have holiday homes here can't come to them.

It's impossible to get your TIE unless you are physically here in Spain, so as it stands at the moment you are unable to enter the country.

It will change at some point but maybe not before you are expecting to move. I wish you all the best.

That's best then you know exactly what's what.

I had to contact them myself about travel, this is the email address I used:

[email protected]

If that isn't the right department for you they will give you the correct email address. I hope this is some help.

Hi Lisher

It might be worth while checking out the avenue of travelling for business.

Only problem is when will we be able to fly?  My friend had had to change several flights due to cancellations.

Good Luck

Trish
