Hi When we come across to Spain, we would like to bring some furniture with us. Has anybody done this? Can you recomend anyone ? And roughly what the cost might be.

Many thanks Carol

Hi Carol

We moved in June this year, used a reputable company but it was a near full house move for us.

Everything depends on the company:-

How many boxes, bulk, weight, distance from where you are now and where you're moving to, how much insurance you need etc.

Ours only told us about the customes charges after we'd agreed the contract.

Extra maybe charged if the Spanish property is at the end of a very narrow track as a smaller van may have to be hired on arrival day.

Of course if the movers do the packing for you it's extra. Ours didn't keep to the agreed days for them to start packing, so that threw us slightly, as things ended up mixed in boxes.

Best to get a few quotes, ask questions and check everything as it costs thousands.

Hope this helps a little.

Good luck.

Regards Jean and Phil

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Our furniture has just arrived in Spain before we arrive next week- we live in Ireland so no customs issues but it was quite expensive. It was over €6000 to get 25 cubic metres transported but the Irish ferry is more expensive. We used ERS - European Relocation Services based in Turre and to date they have been very professional and very helpful

They do part loads and I think the price is about €150 per cubic metre from the U.K.

We brought the remainder of our furniture last month 7 cubic metres £1800 plus Spanish taxes (€260).

We've used this company several times.

David Dale removals Boroughbridge.

Highly recommended.
