The reason I said autonomo is flawed is because it’s not a fair system. Not at all. Someone can earn a few thousand a month, and someone else can earn under a thousand, which is the minimum to earn, yet still pay the same amount every month, as well as your accounts fee. In the uk you pay usual...

I keep holding out hope for the promised “means tested” Autónomo ... I know it’s a mythical beast ... but I live in hope 😁

The Spanish who predominantly own business’s tend to employ family and friends of family, and that’s on every level of professions, from the town hall to a small cafe. A contract would secure you with health care, but like I said before, you have little or no chance. I’m sorry if my post isn’t what you want to read, but it’s truthful, believe me, and I’ve been here 11 years, and in the process of returning back to the uk.

so why go back to the UK , the state it is in and so more expensive to live , i know where im staying and it is here

i agree as we earn very little a few hundred a month and pay top dollar BUT we get the full Spanish NHS and that alone makes it worth our while, and there are people who do make thousands a month and pay the same

not fair id say also

Well that’s your prerogative maxchef, but I’ve been here 11 years and that’s enough for me, and yes the uk is more expensive to to live but the wages reflect the economy, and personal reasons.

It’s a hell of a lot of money to pay for a health system! Only if you use it on a regular basis, like every month would you get your money’s worth, and if that!

i was on approx 35K per year in the UK salary i paid approx 325.00 pounds not euros per month for my NI

i would say that that was very very very expensive , and yes we do use the Spanish NHS more that we would hope for its not a season ticket to see how ill we can get,

my wife was here 6 months and was diagnosed with breast cancer it was 1000.00 euros per PET scan and we had to pay for 3 of them plus we had to pay for a lot of the chemo, after 3.5 years and 2 operations later she is still on chemo

so yes i find it very very in expensive compared to the UK

as i have sadid we came here at 55  lock stock and barrel and follow all the rules

wait till January and we will see who wants to stay here  for real and follow the rules and pay the Spanish Tax as there are thousands of ex pats that dont want to pay here or the UK

guess what come 1.1.21 they will go home and then the Spanish will like who is left alot better and respect the effort we make to live by their rules in their country

this is NOT the UK and we need to pay our way

does anyone else want to pass comment on this as we do try and fit in with the Spanish way of life

and PS my wife was paying 265.00 pounds per month NI so that was 615.00 pounds per month not 343 .00 euros

so very good value

For myself. I am just curious as to why after 11 years in this beautiful country would you want to return to the UK. They don't give a hoot about COVID 19 just flaunt the rules to suit themselves as the figures show. Everything is so expensive.Law and order is a laugh and joke.
