Still a Newbie and still learning.

I have been advised not to put ordinary toilet tissue down the loo into our septic tank. So I searched for the Biodegradable stuff. Absolutely loads available in Bulk in the UK but struggling in Spain. Amazon UK fine but Amazon Spain no good. So what are the pros and cons of ordinary toilet rolls compared to the Biodegradale ones?

Thanks, I will look out for them but it does seem strange that I can buy large amounts in the UK with relatively few Septic Tanke but they are not available in Spain in the same bulk quantity. Are they not that suitable for septic tanks????

Hi  Bobby They are perfect for septic tanks, you also need to buy "FOSSAS SEPTICAS in a small green box, you place onecapsule in your toilet/ s every month. I call them tea bags as that's what they look like. It keeps your bacteria alive in the septic tank. There are 12 in a box for 6.30€. One they have dissolved in the toilet pan you may then flush.

Thanks, there are so many opinions but I understand this. Biodegradable is much better than collecting toilet tissues in a bin or bag. And certainly more hygenic i would say. Practically every living thing defecates in some way but it is a subject that people studiously avoid! And who can blame them?

We have just had a new septic tank fitted and were told not to use the fossas septicas anymore as any bacteria is destroyed by all of the soaps and detergents that go through the system 🤷‍♀️

OK Folks, I'm giving Tarax and Envii a go. I managed to get the last Tarax from Amazon Spain, no stock in the UK, and decided to add Envii as well - what the heck! But I do understand about detergents.
