You put one per WEEK, not one per month .....

We have just had a new septic tank fitted and were told by the company fitting it not to use the fossas septicas anymore as they are a waste of money. The bacteria in the tank is destroyed by all of the soaps and detergents that go through the system from showers, washing machines etc 🤷‍♀️

We have lived in this house for 15 years, have three bathrooms and have always only put one capsule in each toilet once a month and have never ever had a problem.

Hi  Bobby They are perfect for septic tanks, you also need to buy "FOSSAS SEPTICAS in a small green box, you place onecapsule in your toilet/ s every month. I call them tea bags as that's what they look like. It keeps your bacteria alive in the septic tank. There are 12 in a box for 6.30€....

... One they have dissolved in the toilet pan you may then flush.

Where can you buy these fossas septicas.   Thx

Spanish bacteria must be very delicate, we send (plenty of) normal toilet tissue to our  septic tank in England,  unworried by detergents/ soap, or anything else that goes down the drains (apart from sanitary items), emptied of anything remaining every couple of years: no problemas - and without little packages of extras dropped in...

I had a septic tank in Italy for 30 years and never had any problems with it except when I rented and the tenants did not heed my advice about not putting wet ones of any kind down the loo together with cotton buds!

The biggest destroyers of the natural bacteria that breaks down the waste in your septic tank are antibiotics!!! This can be resolved by eating yoghurt which will then pass through to your tank. If you don’t particularly like yoghurt, buy some cheap natural yoghurt and pour it down the loo.

I hate Yog and to me, it is Sour Milk but your idea sounds interesting. I had the septic tank emptied but my neighbour then told me I should have had the Pozo emptied as well. Estoy Aprendiendo!
