Unfortunately I suspect that Sharron will not be coming back to this forum any time soon, which is a pity because there are some really good replies posted on this thread.

Well thank you very much for taking the time to reply, I havnt`been looking at comments due to first negative one.But thank you we will look at there etc. KIND REGARDS SHARON.
That's a shame but I'm not surprised. You don't expect a rush of sarcasm when you ask a harmless question. We have all learned a lot after living here for a few years.
It is good to see that you have returned Sharron
On any forum you are going to get a mixed bag of replies. Some good and others not so good.
By and large I have found this forum very good in helping people and as you can see on this thread most people have made a good effort to help you.
Hope you find somewhere that appeals to you
Richard
Thank you.

I just think Dario Martin likes the sound of his own words! Most people on here are helpful and friendly. We just bought a property on Huerta Nueva near Los Gallardos today. We have been out here many winters and have really looked into the best areas. We love Mojacar, but it can be windy and of course it can get pretty manic in the height of summer.....Los Gallardos and Turre are just that little bit inland and warmer in winter. Good luck.

I get out plenty - I run a business in Vera and have a shop and real life customers ... and everything 😂 which has certainly helped develop my Spanish as no one speaks English. That’s why I’m wordy, I only ever get to express correct English on this forum (and to the English students I teach)
I wish thee a merry solstice and a blessed Yuletide

Hi, 1st post. Been also researching micro climates. I am also wanting warm Winters but i do NOT want blistering hot summers.
Please don't suggest the Canaries or somewhere, i seen those bitchy posts.
My research has found this info (pasted below), butttttttttt very annoying as it doesn't clearly state if the 9 degrees difference is HOTTER or COLDER.
Don't you just hate it when people write in such wish washy ways you the whole reading is time wasted.
Anyway, what i am HOPING to find out,,, is the areas of Torrox and Nerja 9 degrees hotter in the summer or 9 degrees colder in summer?
IF these areas are 9 degrees colder in summer, that is where i wish to locate.
Please don't reply unless you KNOW by actually spending time there. I need to KNOW not add more mystery.
Article:-
The Best Microclimates in the Costa del SolToday's edition of the newspaper Que has an interesting article about the climate in the Costa del Sol. We are at the height of summer and for the last 2 days there has been a hot wind blowing that comes from the northeast. This is called the "terral". Sometimes there are cooling winds that come from the east, called the "levante".
While the whole Costa del Sol has mild winters and summers that are not excessively hot, there are several microclimates within the area created by the nearby mountains and the way they are situated. The differences in temperature during summer can reach 9 degrees Centigrade.
According to the newspaper, the best microclimates are those of Torrox, Nerja, and Almuñecar on the eastern coast and Marbella on the western coast. The nearby mountain at Marbella protects the city from getting too hot in summer.
People should understand these microclimates before buying property on the Costa del Sol.
