It s quite possible I could let you run the cafe bar if I do  my other project as well the handyman services

don't want to knock down a dream but there will be many businesses that will go to the wall with the consequencies of this lockdown and the ones that don't will be competing for any trade available.  You'll also have to get through the minefield of red tape that will most likely be in place for traders in the future after Brexit.

Hi Gary, please listen to the sound advice people have been giving you....people are just trying to advise you, probably after seeing so many businesses struggle..if you do go ahead just do your research, check footfall in the summer and winter as someone has already said...whatever money you think you may need you'll probably need to treble it...start small, come over and start your handyman business and see how that goes and while you're doing that you'll be able to research the areas and also get to know people to see if a cafe bar would work....you will get people offering to run your business for you but who are they, you have no idea! People may have worked for someone, receiving wages every week from an employer but this is your money you've probably worked your backside off for over many years and this will dissappear in a flash....be very careful because there will be people who will try and take advantage especially if you don't speak any Spanish...please listen to the advice people are offering and I hope all goes well for you...

Albox and arboleas are far too english!! But if thats what your after then good luck to you!!

JJ

If you think there are too many English in Albox and Arboleas then go to Mojacar and Vera, or the Costa Blanca where we lived before we moved to Albox.  There are areas in Alicante province where Spanish is not spoken because of mainly British ex-pats, plus Irish and Northern Europeans. There are quite a few small cafe-bars in Albox which have closed over recent years due to lack of business coupled with rising costs.  It is now quite expensive t pay to have tables and chairs outside, plus self-employed costs and licenses etc are also expensive. Might be better to take over an existing business where the owners want to retire.... Also it is not as busy here in the summer as you might expect as even the Spanish join the exodus for the coast, something which surprised me after moving here from Torrevieja (Alicante province on the coast).
