I have no interest in gardening in general but I have some large new pots. I have been advised by the garden centre that Yucca roots will eventually break the pots. So perhaps some small Palms? But where in the Albox area am I likely to find these? The pots are 20" / 50 cm deep and 11" / 27cm at the top opening = HELP!

Anything will break the pots in time.  Palms can be bought at garden centres and I believe there is one in Albox and also Antas and Vera.

Yuccas are hardier than palms and will tolerate a certain amount of neglect and they do not get attacked by the Palm weevil which is something you have to be careful with if you grow palms.

I would recommend the Cyca or Sago Palm if you want a nice looking, slow growing palm.  Don't put them in full sun as they do better in part shade.  These are much more expensive but at least don't get attacked by the weevil.

Thanks, all duly noted.
