Well due to the Driving License problems we have in Spain with the exchange UK to EU.  and we have till the end of Dec 21

Now at my age 73yrs doing a driving test is unreel. I am thinking of selling up now. I have a Resendency as well. So just asking any info on the Driving Schools  Price

and any other old rubbish for this topic.

Thanks

If you are a resident, its just an exchange. Go to your solicitor ,lawyer. Is your UK license out of date? You will need to do a fit to drive test. If you apply now, it is in the system. Do you have to take a driving test? Im not sure. Seek professional advice.

Anyone who gained residency after 31/12/20 or who hadn’t registered to swap licences with DGT now has to undergo both theory and practical parts of the test.

Lowie, Theory can be done in English and if I recall there’s a driving school in or around La Alfoquia that does lessons etc in English as well.

Cost is ABOUT 700€ to do theory and necessary lessons to get to and do test

How long have you been a resident? Was it before 31/12/20? See  a professional. I know at 70 you are supposed to do a fit to drive test. You may get an extension to change it without the test. I have seen the fit to drive test and it is relatively easy. Don't up sticks until you have explored every avenue? You may not need to sit a test. seek professional help

Thanks. But I got my residency approval in December 2020. I did not receive the card until January 21st 2021.   My paperwork for my driving license was dated and in DGT in the December 2020.  But the lady that was dealing with me gave my paperwork back because I had to come back to England as soon as I received my TIE Card. I came back due to my son was serious I’ll in hospital.  That is my case.   Terry

As per my last post, don’t give up hope.  HMA has announced talks are “ongoing” but Spanish government is expected to announce an extension to validity of UK licences for residents.

If talks were not progressing / making headway, I dare say no such extension would be given - there’d be no point; so the fact Spanish government are expected to announce extension by British Embassy is a good indication that there is a clear path ahead and the ability to once again swap licences may well occur in 2022

Please check your facts.  This is so way off the mark.  If you wanted to do a licence exchange you had to register your intent before Brexit or 31/12/2020
