Any advice about the dreaded sandfly please

Hi there, we are moving to albox with our 2 dogs and we are worrying are the sandfly still bad at this time of year there? We would really appreciate any info off other dog owners.  Thanks

we live very close to the beach in Mojacar Playa and the vet recommended a scalibor collar and he wears it all year as it also protects against ticks and fleas.

Yes, best to wear scalibor collars all year.

our vet said most complete protection combines injections AND the collar, but our pup that we adopted here did have a brief allergic reaction to the injections (I think it was a series of three), also of course once injected the animal will show a positive to any test....

Get them tested and vaccinated against leish

Not cheap in the uk

We had our dog vaccinated with the Leishmaniasis series of three injections, a month apart for each one. He also had a Scalibor collar but had an adverse skin reaction to it - he required special vet treatment to remedy the sore skin around his throat but his fur has now almost grown back there.

Yes they have had the leish injections and we have got the scalibor collars so hopefully we are as well prepared as we can be. Many thanks for the advice
