Does anything know of somewhere I could stay for the month of August as got a long term rental from beginning of September but would like to get there earlier in order to open bank accounts, etc..

We are coming out to Vera to try and get residencia. I am 64 & my wife is 61. So we will both need private health insurance. Does anyone know any good private health companies and what the annual cost per person would be?

Hello again, I had posted previously in SJDLT forum but having now [hopefully] secured a winter rental in the Vera/Garrucha area I’m introducing myself to all you lovely helpful people.

I plan to arrive September 1st [restrictions allowing!!] and will be aiming to achieve residency before the dreaded end of the year cutoff. Ive read, listened and absorbed lots of info from here and other sites and I’m confident I can meet the requirements, I understand I’ll need private health insurance until I reach state retirement age and so on.

I’m thinking now about recommendations please for local gestors or abogados to assist with hand holding through the residency process. My Spanish is currently at the absolute beginner stage, though I sincerely hope that changes fairly quickly.

I’m nervous and excited, to be moving to a new country once again at the age of almost 60 with no contacts in the area is what my brother would have called ‘a strong move’, but there’s no prizes for the faint hearted in life and if I don't do it now I’m scuppered by the Brexit scenario.

I shall be up for glasses of vino and cups of coffee in the sun from September, hope to meet a few of you there. I’d also be interested in a bit of volunteering/beach cleaning/dog walking/walking and activity groups as I’ll want to meet some people!!!
