We've recently come to live in Vera Playa from Urcal, I hoped this site would have comments and maybe questions and answers but it seems to be all adverts and things for sale

I bought an apartment in Vera Playa last year, obtained a Non-Lucrative Visa for retired people and then relocated here in January. The first part of registering my residency (getting the Padron certificate) was easy and took only two weeks. However the second part - obtaining the TIE (Foreigners Identity Card) - has turned out to be far harder than I expected. Apparently you have to book an appointment at a competent police station and now that has to be done online through the Spanish government portal. Unfortunately I'm unable even to register an account for that as I don't have the required document numbers. So I've had to get my solicitor to use her account to book an appointment for me. She has been trying for the last five weeks but none has so far been available and my situation is now getting urgent as my visa is due to expire on 15th April. That is normally the deadline for obtaining the TIE or at least applying for it. If I can't get an appointment by then I may have to return to the UK otherwise I could be liable to pay a huge fine for overstaying my visa time. Has anyone else been in the same situation? I am getting really worried.

I haven't been to Garrucha since pre covid, can anyone advise which are the current restaurants the locals and expats recommend for seafood and which are tourist traps to avoid? Somewhere near where the road train stops. 

Last time everyone was raving about 'Rincón del Puerto' which was nice but didn't blow me away. Time before I know I walked in the direction of Puerto Rey a few minutes and ate at one near where the road bends round to the beach but cannot remember which one, it was good though.

Also can anyone recommend a wine shop?  Hotel Tikar comes up but there must be more, looking for something a bit better than Mercadona / Consum / general tourist shops but not crazy money.

           im hoping to be in vera playa next month and was wondering if the beach is very busy? i have been in february and found the beach nice and not very busy which i prefer as ill be on my own and still a little shy. thanks for any information harry.

Just arrived in Vera Playa a week ago on a NLV, now I need to get on the Padron. Has anybody got any advice on the best way to do this at what paperwork is needed.......thanks
