Hi all, due to Covid and Illness I find that I need to access funds held in my home. I have had no help from the Government even though I am Autonomo and have been unable to work. This has dessimated my savings and left me with nothing to live on. I cannot get a mortgage or loan due to no income. My only asset left (apart from my car) is my home. It is fully paid and has no mortgage on it. I do not want to sell it, just access some of the money. Does anyone know if there are reputable equity release companies in Spain that will buy a portion of the equity in my house and still allow me to live there please?

Hi there, I'm Melanie and my husband and I have recently purchased a town house in Seron (during lockdown) and are hoping to visit in the next few days to complete the exchange of keys!  We would like some insider info on the area and wondered if anyone could help.  How friendly are the locals to Brits - I wouldn't want to seem an outsider but want to blend in with everyone.  We are going to learn Spanish and eventually make Seron our home but will have to do the property up first.  Can anyone recommend a local secondhand furniture store (that delivers if possible)?  We would be grateful for any help.... we have absolutely nothing in the property at the moment :(

We purchased a house in Seron earlier in the year (Casa Real) , as yet due to the current ongoing restrictions have been unable to come over. Would anyone be able to advise of a local maintenance/handy person who is looking to do some paid odd jobs. Unfortunately as we will not be able to come over now until next year and we are a little worried about the house not getting aired, the gutters need unblocking and also we have some foliage growing on one of the terraces. The house has been empty for a number of years. 

We are just looking for someone to go in one a week and open the windows for a few hours and do the odd jobs and clear some rubbish that has been left. Plrease let me know if you know of anyone who may be interested, thanks

I am coming to Seron for the day to explore. I wonder if anyone has places that they recommend to visit whilst there. Thank you in advance

I am Amanda and have recently moved with my husband and 2 boys to the beautiful village of Serón after 21 years of living in Lanzarote.

My Spanish is fairly fluent and I have no problem mixing with the locals but it would be lovely to meet some English-speaking residents. 

So are there any English-speaking residents living in the Serón/Almanzora Valley vicinity who might be interested in making a new contact?

My English neighbour who went to school in Seron when younger tells me they had 5 covid 9 cases in Tijola, 20 in Olula. Think a few people caught it working at the big marble factory Cosentino.  

It will be nice to have a break, I have been working throughout here in the UK, no holiday and double the workload while many others have been put on furlough. How nice it would have been to have been put on furlough and then fly to Spain for the entire period of lock down! Shame, I would have loved to have happened to me.

Hi, does anyone know of a wood supplier around the Seron area please? We need wood for out log burner but usual supplier cannot deliver to us. TIA
