Please can anyone recommend a good local company to supply and fit replacement windows / shutters. Either UPVC or aluminium in dark wood effect.

You could try Window Doctor, on Facebook.
Not sure if they do wood effect but we just used them for installing double glazed and window shutters. Quick , clean and honest
