Hiya Patricia,

ETIAS is the online Schengen Visa; anyone outside the Schengen Zone will need to apply online for an ETIAS visa to travel into the Schengen area.  It’s predicted it will cost around £7 and be valid for 3 years.

Some countries are exempt - I’m

Not certain if Ireland is one of them; being gs Ireland remains in the EU you’d hope so!!

I’ll take a quick look online, see what I can find

Thanks a million,

Your very kind,

patricia

It's meant to read the UK thing doesn't apply to me

Ok - ETIAS targets citizens who can enter EU Zone visa free.  It then lists 62 countries that will require ETIAS - Ireland isn’t one of them.

I'll have a peek at the website, just to familiarise myself.

Be well Dario

Hi Dario,

Bit of a conundrum here- I’m a UK passport holder though I have applied for an Irish one (takes a year now and been waiting 6 months) . I am resident in Ireland for 25 years and my wife and Son 22) both have Irish Passports - would I be in the misdemeanour administrative category or illegal category for overstaying if I was with my wife

Up until 31/12 - yes; after that you become a TCN ... UNLESS your wife has Residencia and you are applying as a dependent of an EU citizen ....
