I use Wise, the rate is good and I have set up alerts so that I get an email when it reaches a certain level.  That way I judge when to top up.  I also have a virtual card for internet shopping as that was a bit of an issue with Spanish companies.

The fees are relatively low and recently they have even refunded some fees 👍👍👍

Customer service is very helpful and normally quick to respond.

They were also very good with advice and help when a merchant didn't supply a product in a useable condition

Used my card for shopping, fuel, in bars and for services such as hairdressers and beauty therapist without difficulty.

Particularly like the fact that purchases immediately come up on my phone.

I'm sure Revolut are pretty much the same so mostly a matter of personal preference

If you are interested in a cash card the Caxton cash card offers a pretty good exchange rate and the card is accepted anywhere that other cards are used, plus if you load it in Euros you can draw cash at atms without charge. The app is super easy to use too.

I now use Wise for transferring cash into my Spanish bank account and as a debit card. I used to use Revolut and all was well until I had a problem, trying to get a response from Revolut's customer service was extremely challenging to say the least. Also, if you use Sabadell as your Spanish bank account Sabadell will charge a transfer fee with Revolut. This is not the case with Wise.
