Hi

This might seem like a silly question, however, we are travelling over by car and staying in vera for at least a month.  We are bringing our diabetic dog with us. With him being diabetic, he must have the same meals at the same time. We are feeding him chappie and was wondering, if I need to bring all his food or can we buy chappie there? We're really looking to visiting this part of Spain.

Thanks

Annette

I have never seen Chappie canned dog food here in Spain. But I’m sure your vet can explain what kind of canned or kibble dog food he needs as a diabetic dog. We use Royal Canin kibble, with water. But there are other kibble dog foods in Mercadona, which are cheaper, and maybe satisfactory for diabetic dogs.

Thank you so much for your response. Apparently, we can only bring a couple of weeks worth over. We'll be there in a few weeks, so a bit late to start playing around with his food. I think, I'll take my chances and bring it, worst case they take it off of me,and I'll then have to change his food. Again, thank you sooo very much

Hopefully I won’t be proved wrong but I would not worry about limits to the food you are bringing for him. We travel annually to the U.K. with our retriever and take a 15Kg sack of Royal Canin kibble with us in the car boot. In 4 years of doing this we have never been stopped at Calais, albeit the permitted limit is around 10Kgs I think.
