Which is the nearest hospital to Vera Playa and is it up to University hospital standard? We are visiting for a short vacation but have several pre existing conditions. Need to know there would be good quality treatment available!

Nearest hospital will be Huércal-Overa.  It is regarded as one the best hospitals in Spain

By who? Certainly not by me, loaded hyper dermic needles left on bedside lockers, my late wife in the same napkin for 14 hours and patient's treated like slabs of meat by auxiliaries. 

There’s always one … sorry it didn’t meet your expectations, but HO is definitely regarded as one of the finest hospitals.

I totally agree.  My partner has had cause to spend a considerable part of the day/night at HO in absolute agony.  Left for hours on his own and then treated really roughly.  A catheter removed from a sensitive place with a yank, and pulled about so roughly that he is still being treated for a back injury acquired at the hospital more than 2 months later.  They may be thorough but definitely not gentle or caring.  It’s a terrible place

My late wife was diagnosed with cancer by the duty emergency doctor on Christmas eve and did not receive treatment until July and then only with the intervention of our family doctor  who spent his rest day telephoning around.
