Hi There
Just read your reply. We are renting in Vera Playa from 1 November for 6 months. We have been asked if we would like to purchase logs for the property's woodburner. Can you advise if you think this should be something we would consider.

I would probably wait until til you're here. If they deliver you may get more than you need. You can buy them when you need them. Problem with a wood burner (so I am told by friends) is sometimes it gets too hot. It may be worth considering a butane gas heater which is about 70 euros and gas bottles about 18 euros. Just a thought.

We have been here 18 years and we have been outside at lunchtime on Christmas day in the sun wearing clothes that would probably not keep us warm in summer in UK. However as soon as the sun sets it is like turning off the heating and you do need layers.
So yes if you have a log burner you do need logs
If looking for a property either to rent or to buy one of the most important factors is orientation. If you are going to be here during the winter you need to have outside areas and your main living area which face south or southwest. If it all faces north you will need the heating on a lot more and will not to be able to sit out in the sun.

You should be fine there Caz, it is close to the bus should you need it, a few minutes drive to the Mercadona and Consum supermarkets and the beach. Safe journey.
Thank you very much, im pleased to hear there are supermarkets not far.I did look on google earth but the images are from 3 years ago. Would you know if its pointing in the right direction south south/west as the post on this thread mention?
cheers Carol
