Hi, we can only recommend as we see/do and/or have experience of, the running around that bobl experienced was what we thought of what we had to do, partners solicitor wasnt involved and the mess I experienced was my own fault because I didnt apply inside the 3 month limit on the medical.

By all means go down the route of hiring someone, apologies for not checking where youre from, La Alfoquia is only around 20 minutes from us.

Bobl probably has a bit more experience in these matters, my driving aplication was just the other month so maybe a smidge more recent or up to date, in all the time we've been posting I doubt very strongly that we've disagreed very much and he usually beats me to new posts lol.

Where have you been going to then? It's easy, you just pop into Sorria Bonillia Gestoria in Mojacar, they will apply for do everything all very easy and straight forward.

Once you have had your eye test in Garrucha, then Sorria will take your old licence give you some paperwork for the police if stopped and you will receive your Spanish licence in approx 4/6weeks. This of course if your current UK licence has still some years left on it for driving, if non then you might have to take a test.

As for all the rest this all done with their help in one place with them, to get onto the health system we went to Huecal Overa with our old E111 which has been replaced I'm told, not having been in the U K to ask about such things.

All those bits of advise, I agree sounds like a minefield, but it's easy if you go to professionals and not seek advice from the ground as they all seem to vary.

You are right.  You do not need a solicitor . Emma Randle happens to be one but acts as a gestor and  she charges as one.  

I originally went to her because I had seen 2 gestors giving me conflicting advice (mainly on how much money you had to show in order to get the residencia) and found that my neighbours were also given conflicting advice. We all four were given four different figures ! Emma has direct access to Extranjeria and has the  answers from the horses mouth. 

Why not pop into Mojacar, Soria Bonillia, they are the tops for us, used them for everything, self employed, ltd company, driving licence. Etc.etc.
