I am looking for a carpenter who might be able to fix an internal door - any recommendations please. Preferably English speaking. We are based in San Juan de los Terreros.

The door handle has basically come off on one side and the holes for the screws are too big for it to be replaced. It either needs boarding out around the original handle area so new holes for a new handle can be put in or whatever alternative there might be. Trying to avoid replacing the door. It’s an internal wooden door for a bathroom

Thanks Chris - if we can’t get it sorted over the next week while we are here I will message you again. I am back out at the end of October myself. Great choice of area to buy in.

That's easy to sort. Get yourself some wood dowel. Shave it down so it will be a nice tight fit in the holes. Apply some wood glue into the holes and dowel, knock in the dowel. cut level with surface and allow glue to dry for 24 hours. Sand it down and refit handle with the screws into the new wood.
