We are looking to purchase a holiday home in San Juan de Los Terreros or in a costal location from Aquilas to Garrucha. We are visiting for a week on 4th March to research the area and view a number of properties. For the week we have rented a property in Mar Tirenno, SJDLT. I note that some of the properties list mosquito screens as a must have. My question is, are mosquitoes a particular problem for the area? Thanks.
Mosquitoes get less and less of a problem each year as there are plans to rid the area of mozzies exponentially. Flies are the main concern due to pig farming and the screens are bought mainly against them.

Mozzies, flies and any other little creatures, whether they be snakes or rodents. I wouldn’t be without flyscreens.
