Yes, the prices will plummet, I have a FRIEND WHO HAS A 140,000 EURO MORTAGE ON A FLAT IN A BLOCK WHere flats are now selling for 40,000 or less.try not to buy into a communidad, it,s a nightmare. The spanish know all the rules, ie, you cannot be evicted if you have children, etc. and they generally form a clique. The estate agent will tell you the community fees are half of what they eventually turn out to be.

Look on a site called Propieadades  embaragados.this is a site that lists all the repossessed  properties.Plus all the banks have their own properties listed, but usually at silly prices. If i had it all to do over again, and know what i know now, i, d actually rent. You can get good long term reals in the winter. And let someone else worry about the bill, upkeep etc.I have been here 15 years, and the only thing i,d change is i,d never live in a community. And most importantly, learn a bit of the lingo. And good luck, need any advice, feel free to contact me.

Thanks Bongo133, very helpful advise as we would have probably looked at just that.

We had thought about renting first to get to know what our chosen area is like to live in however if we buy now it will just be a holiday home for the next 5+ years.

The deals to be had will as I say be owned by the bank as there’s still some stock left .

If a property was originally worth say 300K

There’s no way even in these times that will be reduced to one third the original . The owner would rather keep it and rent out when it’s ok to move about in Spain .

If anyone can show me evidence of properties being reduced from what they were 10 weeks ago to even close to 30 % off then let me know , but 70 lol

Nahhhh not a chance .

Let’s see the proof
