Rubbish collection

Yes there are regular collections (more often than UK) from streets and ramblas. You will see large green or grey wheelie bins in strategic places for you to drop your rubbish in plus in certain areas they also provide extra bins for recycling.  Very much depends where your property is as to how far away your nearest communal bin is located.  There is also a tip in Arboleas where you can take stuff.
