Thinking about purchasing a mobile home on the East Side of Oria. Are there many bars etc in the area?

Cheers

Glen

Hi Glen, 6 bars that I can think of in Oria not counting the ones in the Rambla as need to drive to those.  Small supermarkets, bakery, cake shop, pizzeria, ferreteria, banks, pet food stores, mechanics, petrol station, doctors, abogado, post office, swimming pool mid summer only.  Think that's about it.  Bus service almost non existent.  Hopefully you have a car as the site is a bit out the way unless you like walking but is doable.

Good luck, Oria is a nice place to live.

Andy.

Hi Andy

That's a great help. Happy to walk on occasions but will also have my car. Do you know if the walk has to be along the road or can it be cross country as we have a couple of small dogs too

Cheers

There are almond groves all round the static homes and you cross these as long as you do not damage any trees. Once you get to the tarmac road near the swimming pool it is roads the rest of the way.  It would be advise able to put dogs on leads in the village.  All large dogs need to be muzzled or the guardie could pull you up, they would give you a warning for the future.  Lovely village, great people Spanish and other nationalities of which there are many.  There is a guardie office in the village the local police are based in the town hall, Marrisol is the translator for the town hall.  There is a 24 hour medical centre with it own ambulance.  For a small town it has almost everything even car mechanic, tyre replacement, school, grain stores but unfortunately no vet, this you would need to go into Albox were there are a couple.  I have 4 dogs so I use Juan for price and professional care.

As Edna says, fields and no real tracks as such around the site so prob best use the road, it's not a busy one until you get to the main 399 into the village but it again is not very busy.  Lots of tracks in Oria to walk the dog, especially up past the site.

We only have 2 little Yorkshire Terriers. One a little older than the other. Planning to get a doggie pushchair lol in case her hip plays her up whilst we're out.

One final question for you.

What is the Rambla.?

Cheers

Ah, there are lots of ramblas all over Spain.  When water runs off the hills after heavy rain some will run like a river for short periods.  Rambla de Oria is a few KM's from the village but there are many houses along it and when dry (most of the time) the ramblas are used as roads.  This particular rambla takes you all the way to Albox if you don't mind the shake rattle and roll of driving along it lol.
