Hi good people, is there an U3A group nearby? Things like petanca groups, social groups, year round activities sort of thing.

There are a group of UK expats that play petanca on the courts near Hola Ola on a regular basis but not sure if they are an official group, there are groups of ladies that meet regularly, Ladies that lunch and Women on Wednesday as well as sewing and stiching groups and also walker and rambler groups...there are probably more but not necessarily widely publicised...

Some meet on a Tuesday, some on Wednesday. The walking clubs usually on a Saturday morning I think. The book club in Turre every 1st Saturday of the month...details for lots of these can be found in the focus magazine...I'm not a member of many of them so don't know the fine detail but know they exist and meet regularly...

Have a look at Focus, it lists lots of group activities, when and where, and is available online.

If you get a copy of the latest Almeria Focus there is section at the back Activities, Clubs and Associations. This gives contact details for clubs etc.
