Hello,

We received a parking fine while in Mojacar, told street was free but unfortunately the one parking place we picked was outside a pharmacy and we received ticket from police.

We have returned home 1 week later and trying to pay ticket seems impossible!

Anyone any tips?

Thank you,

Yvonne

since Brexit nothing works cross board I have been over the Dartford bridge and tunnel many times so long as the reg is Spanish you will not get a fine. However as the uk don't care don't presume that Spain and Europe are not on the ball

Thank you for response,

We are from Ireland so I'm not sure we'd fall under those rules. But appreciate your time. Thank you.

This might be of no help at all but some 6 or 7 years ago I too received a fine ( speeding ) in Mojacar. At the time I lived mostly in UK. I managed to pay the fine online through the DGT website ( I think ). This could all have changed of course since Brexit but have a look at the DGT website.

With a parking fine I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep about it and if ever challenged if and/ or when you return to Mojacar I'm sure an offer to pay the fine would be welcomed. The Police here are human.

Sleep well.

Uesss of course you have a Spanish bank account in which case the full non-discounted amount will be debited from the account under embargo.

@Yvonne83 - you should be able to pay the fine through the DGT website - I’ll see if I can dig out the right area

Thank you, appreciate the help but all in Spanish, obviously but can't make head nor tail of it. I've tried emailing Police station but won't send, unauthorised email etc and rang and spoke basic English and told me ring 112, who in turn told me they can only deal with issues in Ireland.

I think I'll give up, I've tried all options.

Use google chrome and the translate function on that to give you a better idea.  The important word is “Multa” which is fine.

If you’d like to send me a private message with your car rego, I can do a search and see if it’s recorded.

That being said - thinking about it, when I got a parking fine in Almeria, I had to pay through the Ayuntamiento website.  As parking fines are issued by local authority, not Tráfico, it’s quite possible the answer lies more in the website for Mojácar Ayuntamiento.  Let me have a look a wee bit later and see what I can dig out.  If you ever intend returning to Spain, the last thing you want is an unpaid fine hanging over your head.  They get twitchy about that.

If you go to the website you can change the language into English. 'Seleccionar Idioma'

Select 'Ingles' in the drop down box

Best of luck

Sorry! Just read Darios post! He's correct!

Thank you Dario, yes it was issued via AYUNTAMIENTO DE MOJACAR, I can attach photos of fine. Really appreciate the help. I'd love to get it paid and out of my head!
