Your best buy for all the advice you will need is to visit Lucas Mayo in his office opposite the Fereteria Lopez, his business is known ans Gecko Services. Lucas is of English - Spanish descent, perfect English, "Spanish mother tongued",, well known and influential in Mojacar "for all seasons" , as upright as can be and almost "overloaded" work wise. Lucas will convince you as to whether you will at all need the services of any lawyer to purchase the property you have chosen to buy. If the papers are in order, i.e. straight forward all you need to do is get the property legally transfered to your name through a Notary. Even here you best bet is to take one in Vera, NOT in Mojacar, but get a quote from at least three Notaries so that each one quotes a single comprehensive price for his particular services plus all subsequent legal fees (taxes) involved until the property has been recorded in the "Registro". Dont accept any vague or approximate price for the Notary fees, you will expose yourself to a "surprise"-bill after the works been done.
If you foll.my advice you will save 1.5 to 2% of the cost of your purchase..
