Why not rent a 2-bed, 2-bath flat on the ground floor in our  place in the middle of Mojacar Beach where the life really is humming, 200m from the beaches in a quiet side road? You will find much and enough in walking dintance till you are set-up well.

You can even buy up our 3-flat house etc. without the need of expensive Lawyers. For more please ask.

Hi after looking at nearly 20 properties in about 10 different locations looks like we have found a property in Los Gallardos and are ready to buy , I realise estate agents put their mates first regarding legal matters , money transfers etc , does anyone have people / companies in Mojácar/ los gallardos they can recommend please ..

Yes they are nice but you definitely need a car: a wee bit remote from everywhere. But the Triana restuarant is definitely worth going to!

Your best buy for all the advice you will need is to visit Lucas Mayo in his office opposite the Fereteria Lopez, his business is known ans Gecko Services. Lucas is of English - Spanish descent, perfect English,  "Spanish mother tongued",, well known and influential in Mojacar "for all seasons" ,  as upright as can be and almost "overloaded" work wise. Lucas will convince you as to whether you will at all need the services of any lawyer to purchase the property you have chosen to buy. If the papers are in order, i.e. straight forward all you need to do is get the property legally transfered to your name through a Notary. Even here you best bet is to take one in Vera, NOT in Mojacar, but get a quote from at least three Notaries so that each one quotes a single comprehensive price for his particular services plus all subsequent legal fees (taxes) involved until the property has been recorded in the "Registro". Dont accept any vague or approximate price for the Notary fees, you will expose yourself to a "surprise"-bill after the works been done.

If you foll.my advice you will save 1.5 to 2% of the cost of your purchase..

For money transfers and for my bank account in UK I use Transferwise - https://transferwise.com/ - but have a local Spanish account with Sabadell.
