depending on your budget and if you want the sea and a pool the hotels in Mojacar are a good option with a bus service to the village for a different Spain.

What type of accomodation are you looking for (apartment, villa etc), do you prefer to be by the sea or are you happy being inland, do you want to be close to shops, bars etc,  do you want a pool, how many people in your party?

Almeria is a wonderful place to holiday but you have so many options.

Happy holiday hunting!

Hi there

we are a couple in our 50’s that would like to rent a small villa with either a communal pool or private one. We don’t mind a short drive to the sea but would prefer somewhere with places to eat close by.

Half the fun of a holiday is the planning!  Print off a map to focus , and then have a look at properties listed on airbnb  - you can compare prices, look at the photos and references for each property and most will include a bit of information about the area they are in. So many choices and you can find the one to suit you, from bicycling up mountains, to nudist beaches, to stargazing telescopes far from urban light pollution...  Or a beach umbrellas  resort with lots of nice restaurants nearby and some cozy Irish pub to make new English friends.

If you have already booked your flights then I would advise looking for your villa or apartment via Bookings.com.  This is what I usually like to do and have never been disappointed so far.  At least you know what you will be getting if you read the comments from people who have rented the same place.

Garrucha, Mojacar and Vera Playa are all places with plenty of restaurants.  Agua Amarga, Las Negras and San Jose are three very nice places within the Natural Park of Gabo de Gata but smaller, and rentals may be more expensive.  If you want to the see the sea but not be down on the seafront, La Parata (Mojacar) or the hillside village of Bedar probably have nice options on offer for rent.

Of course, you will need to hire a car if you are not bringing your own as you cannot get by using public transport unless you are in the city here, so bear that in mind too.

Hi Sophie. We have a beautiful 2 bed 2 bath apartment in Mojacar with a large terrace with fab sea views. The communal pool is on edge of cliff overlooking the sea. Great bars and restaurants within a few minutes. it's quite booked up but some dates still available. If you're interested please message me.
