I have a recurring lower back problem. I would like to see a specialist, with a view to getting tests done, eg an MRI scan. Can anyone advise, from their personal experience, the best way to set about this?
I'm a resident here, and enrolled in the Spanish health service, but willing to 'go private' to speed things up.

If you are willing to go private there are 2 private clinics in vera,one near the bullring and one near the health centre. Private is expensive and if you need repeat check ups the pennies creep up every time.

Hi Bob,
Make an appointment with one of the private doctors in your area and they will refer you to a specialist. If you choose to go to the doctor in the Parque Comercial in Mojacar, it may be best to go in person to make the appointment as sometimes by phone it can difficult getting through. Alternatively, if you tell your local doctor that you'd like to speed things up by going private he or she might also see private patients at after 5pm as many do.
