Just wondered if I could put the water and electric bills on hold while stuck in the UK. Fernie electric and Galasa water standing charges are quite a bit even with both turned off at the house.

Anyone else thought of this?

Thanks, David

I rent an apartment long-term in Almeria.  I am locked in UK and normally by May I would have had visited my apartment 3 times.  I am still paying my rent and electric and water.  I don't believe that these payments can be put on hold.  However, I have not enquired about this.

Yes, I agree because I think I have read somewhere that they are not the renter's main residence.

Your obviously in a different situation.  What I had read, referred to holiday homes.

We have an apartment in Mojácar Playa, have been unable to get out since lockdown. We noticed our bank account has not deducted rubbish and car tax (Payable to town hall) Anybody else found this?

You can switch electricity supplier. I believe nordic energy has a holiday home tariff

Hi Andy

I am looking at this. Still might be a bit more than my standing charge of about 19€ month.

Thanks, David
