We’re looking to come out with the family to celebrate nye and was hoping to book at a restaurant for the evening but having inquired at a couple this weekend was told they close at 6.00 ish. Does Mojacar close down then or what is a typical Spanish nye?

Cheers Rob

Hi,

The BIG Spanish festival is 3 Kings on the 6th January when historically the children receive presents.

Have to say Mojacar can seem like a ghost town on NYE although some restaurants are open. We usually go to the gig/ meal at The Irish Rover but last one we were in Scotland. Friends went and reported it as Poor. There are other venues and Mojacar and surrounding areas change year/ Year. Nothing stays the same.

As you know there is a full-time population of ex-pats & also a population of owners who come in for the Winter although this may be shortened with Brexit.

Saludos

As we get closer to Xmas/ NYE you see adverts appearing in the local free Brit papers. EWN is on-line. Also there is a gig guide on Facebook Mojacar Forum.

Hi how many people and age ranges,I was there last NYE and it was not great,Rover not as busy as before,Beachcomber was a buffet style and fairly busy, the chinese was fairly busy, the French restaurant near the old music musica was busy(name escapes me).It seems for the last few years most people in Mojacar have been taking a coach 'holiday' to Benidorm hence Mojacar being slow. The heady days of Mojacar being rammed are gone for now so I would gamble that you can get there, then take a walk around, look at the menus and then book
