I would say that you get better value for money in other areas. However, there are less restaurants, bars and shop in other locations. Mojacar is busy in the summer months but still has things to do and places to go in the winter.
The bottom line is what do you want from your location and is the cost worth it for you personally
Thank you
Steve, Everything is relative. Buy inland (even a few miles) and you're pay a lot less. But, you get what you pay for. Mojacar Playa is probably dearer for property (depending on location) than most nearby areas. But, compared with properties in Costa del Sol Mojacar Playa is better value.
Thank you that's helpful.

You don't have to go far out to get really good value for money...Turre or Los Gallardos are great areas...Also in the height of the season Mojacar Playa can be very busy! We were in Mojacar Playa for a while....but love the life on the edge of Los Gallardos...

Hi. My advice would be to buy what you can afford in the area where you want to live rather than let price dictate where you go.
So, if you want loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance, the beach on your doorstep and you dont mind sharing your life with hordes of other people in July and August Mojacar Playa is great. Vera Playa also provides a decent range of bars and restaurants and a great beach but is cheaper than MP. It is, however, extremely busy in July and August as well.
As people have said you get much more for your money inland - eg for the price of an apartment in MP you can get a house with private pool 40 minutes inland. But dont buy there if a more rural lifestyle isn't what you want.
Why not rent somewhere for a period to try before you buy?

The lovely thing about Los Gallardos or Turre is it is only 10 minutes away from the Playa.....Renting means you are throwing part of your house deposit down the drain!

Thank you very much for your reply.
I am hoping to get out there this year to check the area out. My thoughts at this stage are in the MP area or possibly the Pueblo as I want everything close by, particularly bars and restaurants. Having said that its to be my forever home, so I may need to future proof it. I can't see myself in Maui bar drinking cocktails in my 80s lol.
As NannieH says above, perhaps somewhere further inland like LG might be a good option. I can easily jump in a cab for nights out in MP whenever I fancy ??????

I will check these areas out thank you very much.
I use Spanish Property Choice and Rightmove for research. Can you think of others I should use?
Kind regards
