best location to stay in Mojacar

Hi everyone, i have now been able to confirm a villa we are going to rent in July but myself and my wife are coming for 5 days in April to do a recce of the local area to see where the best bars/ restaurants/ facilities are for our july trip as we are treating our son and his partner and our daughter, her partner and our grandaughter.

We have been to Mojacar for 1 night about 2yrs ago and stayed in the Hotel virgen del Mar and although we liked the location and general vibe of the area we are unsure if this is the best area to stay for our recce . Our rental villa is a little bit further along and just up from the Kontiki beach bar so we would like to know what the locals think would be ideal for us ?.

we will have a car for our stay in April but were thinking not to hire one for our july trip at this stage as we feel the villa location and facilities will be adequate (although we might change our minds after our recce).

Is there a bus service up to the pueblo. are taxis easily available that would suit 6 adults and an 8yr old, which is the best beach with chiringuitos preferably within walking distance

please let me know your thoughts on where to stay for our 5 night recce trip (April 16th _ 21st) and where you would suggest ie restaurants, bars

hi there is a regular bus service up to the pueblo and along the seafront from Indalo to Marina de la torre area. Also there is a bus svce to the town of Ver passing through Vera Playa beach area. both are a reasonable price. You can also get a larger taxi if you telephone for one.

Plenty of good bars and restaurants all along the playa and in Garrucha plus a market on Friday in Garrucha and in the village of Mojacar on a Wednesday. Crazy golf available and ten pin bowling or you could catch a football match,

The town of Vera offers the bull ring with an interesting museum, a catherdral and a small local museum by the townhall which is interesting.

Flamenco evenings are also available in the village.

Hi, we've been here 8 years and have stayed in Mojacar several times during house moves etc. We always stay at the Puntaza Hotel it's absolutely great value has fantastic bars and eating places all round and on the bus route.
