Yes passports are being stamped at all EU entry and exit points.....if you have residencia here in spain don't forget to show your green card/TIE as your passport should not then be stamped....

I understand that at Alicante they have introduced a number of queues. One is for UK passports, another is for UK and TIE. The latter do not get their passport stamped. At Murcia there is a small notice on the immigration desk that requests residents to show TIE / Residencia with their passport. These ones are not stamped. Haven’t yet experienced Almeria

I arrived back  last October into Almeria, I just held up my passport, never asked for any other ID on passing through it was not stamped or scanned, i was confronted by reception committee of Spanish , all masked up asking me in Spanish as to where i was staying all very helpful and polite , I showed my old green paper certificado de registro de ciudado de la unión , they waved me on no problems at all, although I am not saying this is still the case at Almeria

With regards to the petition asking people to sign, to ask the British government to engage in talks with the Spanish government Re extending the three month limit on staying to 6 ,  i think no chance , as Spain is part of the Schengen European, and the rest of the EU will in no way sanction it, !!!, and i think those who are none resident fully realise no matter where you enter into Europe your 3 month starts then and there, and as you all may be well aware also , fines and in some cases banned from entering Europe will be rigorously enforced, for those breaching the three month rule .

The petition will go nowhere as it is not a Spanish decision - it is as you say the rules set down in the Schengen treaty.  As Spain is a Schengen country, any “agreement” it bothered to negotiate with UK would be immediately invalidated by the pre-existing Schengen treaty
