We visit our holiday home regularly and with the cost of car hire are wondering if it’s possible for non residents to own a Spanish car , or is that only allowed for Spanish residents? Any advice welcomed. Thanks

You can buy a Spanish car as a non resident, we have bought both secondhand and new cars.  Couple of things to bear in mind.  2nd hand cars in Spain are way more expensive than in the UK.  Also ensure you know who is paying the transfer fee.   It can save you time, money and general hassle if you get a professional to sort your transfer out, especially if your Spanish is limited.  If you go down the new car route some dealers say you have to have a padron.  A padron is for residents only Do Not get a padron
