just had my santander sailing on 19th may, cancelled by brittany ferries.

Was that from Plymouth on Pont Aven?  I have just booked to go the other way on 31st May, with their website proudly stating that everything is restarting from mid-May.  Now looking at their booking pages all Plymouth sailings are curiously "full" which I suspect really means "cancelled".

BOE came out about 5 days ago now pushing the dropping of restrictions back from 9th May to 31st May.  Until 31st May it continues to be Citizens and Residents only allowed in.

Yes.  Have just seen this published.  Translation courtesy Google Translate:

The president of the Junta de Andalucía today announced the measures that will be adopted as of May 9, the day on which the state of alarm ends.

  1. Stabilization Phase: from May 9.
  2. Advance Phase: from June 1.
  3. Normalization Phase: from June 21.

The capacity of shops, bars, restaurants, transport and public shows will depend on the level of alert that is declared in each municipality.

Measures that will come into effect this Sunday:

  1. The curfew disappears
  2. The community, which until now had a closed perimeter, opens
  3. We activate the stabilization phase:
  • Opening of hospitality industry until midnight
  • Tables: 8 people indoors and 10 outdoors (depending on alert level)
  • Celebrations: 300 people indoors and 500 outdoors (depending on alert level)
  • Clubs: open until 2 am. (same capacity conditions as restaurants).
  • Dance floors only in municipalities with alert level 1: outdoors and mask
  • Shows, cinemas, theaters, sporting events and bullrings on levels 1 and 2: free seats between groups of spectators. Rest of levels separate 1.5 m.
  • Beaches and swimming pools: without time limits, but a specific protection plan and a distance of 1.5 m will be necessary. between groups.
  • And remember masks

Current regulations: from May 9 to 31.

  • June 1: the advance phase with fewer restrictions would be activated
  • In municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants with a rate higher than 1,000 infections, a perimeter closure and closure of essential commercial activity will be decreed.
  • In Municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants there will be a specific risk assessment.

Good question. I was wondering if it would actually be legal to drive from Santander to Almeria?

you can drive through the provinces to a destination but whether you can stop over is debatable.

See my post above.  Regions are opening from 9th May.  So far Andalucia and Murcia have announced intention to open as from Sunday, Valencia expected to announce same soon.
