I have found to my surprise, that there is an excellent local bus service in Mojacar (in normal times).

It runs on a loop that covers from the Indalo Hotel at one end of the town, passes up through the pueblo and back down, to continue on as far as Marina de La Torre. The fare is a very reasonable €1.20 per trip.

I have seen suggestions on other forums, that you'd be lucky to be able to get transport to get from one end of the town to the other in the evening - that taxis were supposedly extremely scarce.

In my subsequent experience, there are a sufficient number of taxis, plus with the bus service, there's no problem at all in getting from A to B.

This isn't counting the fact that there's also the bus service to Vera that serves Mojacar aswell.

even better if a resident of Mojacar and an OAP you get a fee bus pass to use whenever you want to.  at the moment the buses only run on the hour but usually it is 2 buses on the half hour.  one goes up the village coming from Indalo Hotel the other goes along the playa from Marina de La Torre.  they are running mostly empty at the moment they have hand gel on entry and are supposed to limit numbers so that there are empty seats between passengers.

My friend Carlos Boyko is at the wheel of a brand new Scania bus a couple of days

after it was delivered to their depot at Los Gollardos.  This was a test run to make

sure that it would pass through the narrow sections of the route in the Pueblo.

The other picture is the same bus as it arrived at the depot on trade plates.

Cheers, Ray.

look forward to travel on a brand new bus in the future then.  The drivers have kept going throughout with care thanks to them from us.

Further to my earlier post regarding my road trip from Santander to Mojacar & return,

I have attached a couple of pictures on my Northbound journey. These are taken North

of Burgos when I had to stop for a call of nature.  I have another picture showing the

van that I was driving, but I cant find it right now. The reason for the whole journey was

to transport personal items etc for my long time friend Tony Christie.  In 1988, Tony visited

Mojacar, and while he was there, he bought a property  " Off Plan ".  The property was

complete by early 1989, and Tony and his family had a few holidays at their new holiday

home.  In November 1989, my wife and I spent a week at the property with Tony & his wife.

Early in 1992 they decided to move to Mojacar permanently,  Northovers Removals, who

had an office on the Paseo did the main house move, and I carried all the personal objects.

Best Regards, Ray.
